Story writing

The students of complementaria had the task of writing a story using the the cards given in red ink. After learning the verbs in past participle and some linking words they organized this funny story. They worked in team having a laugh and a good result. The students enjoyed and expressed the satisfaction of learning. The story hasn't got a title yet. What impressed me about the result of this activity was the ease that the student showed to create the story with just a little knowledge. Even better the students has the goal to improve it.

The story:

"They sang, danced and drank in the party. We visited the museum; read, wrote, studied and spoke about the history, also drove to the restaurant and took the menu but we did not look at the prices. Next we ate and thought  to run. At the end we had time to play and made cookies"

The Visitor...

Having the contact with an audience it is a challenge. In this opportunity, students of Mantenimiento de Computo from Socorro, were doing a dissertation related to Immigration. This topic was based on a movie The Visitor directed by Thomas McCarthy. The purpose was to talk about some subtopics like: American dream, illegal vs. legal and so on. They had to present a research article using one author as a reference, make a Prezi presentation, a video related to the topic and finally ready to talk in English! Wearing nice out fits, they were nervous, but at the end happy because of the challenge! Thanks!

Groovy Movement at Sena.

Students from the group of Business Management Technology, got wild dancing and putting into practice the prepositions of place using different parts of the body. Through movements and with extraordinary body coordination, they learned the meaning of the verbs and linking verbs and phrases. I think this is a great approach to introduce one of the many lessons in store to learn not only English but any other language today.

IT'S TIME TO TALK ABOUT MY FAMILY

During this activity students from the Early Childhood program in Curití were supposed to design a family tree containing English vocabulary related to the family members. The idea was to present their family background describing specific personal details of the members such as job, age, where they come from and so on.Also, students had to make use of the Anglo-Saxon possessive form “´s” so that their descriptions didn’t lack of natural English-speech.To build up the posters, students used diverse materials in order to not only show their English skills, but also their artistic abilities.

People learned about “How to care the world” and what they can do to care it.  It was a really great time and we all had fun and learned with the “Environmental Week!”
